Trampoline Park Safety

Sometimes you encounter situations in which it is nice to be able to call in an external independent expert, for example a visit from NVWA, an accident, expansion plans or just one of those questions that keeps itching. With my knowledge, network and experience I can contribute to a wide range of issues.

In a half-day your trampoline park supervisors will gain theoretical insight into what makes their work important and challenging, and practical tips on how to perform their duties properly. With an individual Proof of Participation you can easily demonstrate the training of your supervisors.

In this 3-day course spread over 4 weeks you will learn everything about the theoretical underpinnings of safety in your trampoline park. With standards and regulations as a starting point, the theory is translated into the practice of your organization. After this course you have a good foundation in knowledge and documentation to substantiate and safeguard your working methods. 

By law anything that is not replaced 1-to-1 is considered a modification which affects your certification. As an inspector for TÜV Netherlands I experienced both the complications of an ad-hoc process and with how proper preparation can save a lot of time, money and headaches.

I have a great deal of insight in the physical condition of your trampoline park as an engineer, gymnast, trainer and inspector. A high-quality and independent assessment will be followed by a report that meets all regulatory requirements. This is achieved in collaboration with Speelplan, a Private Inspection Bureau recognized by the NVWA.

In-house inspection is often neglected. This is not justified, because proper attention and knowledge can save a lot of costs. The payback period of this improvement process is very short. What if the blocks of the foam pit last 2 to 5 times longer? Did you know proper care can double the lifetime of your airbag? Or even, what is the cost for replacement of a single net or padding?

Apart from significant cost savings it also improves safety for your visitors.

In collaboration with DCTT the ABS system, which is frequently used by a.o. municipalities, has been made suitable for trampoline parks and Family Entertainment Centers. With this system it’s more difficult to make mistakes, thus enabling consistent high-quality inspections. No more hassle with folders and missing pages, you always have all information available in a clear and well-organized manner. 

Trampoline park design is a craft in its own right: standards are complex, there is a lot of variation in installations, users need to be channeled, each design choice influences adjacent design choices, and everything has to fit within the context of the customer and the country in which it is installed.

Trampoline Park Safety has provided design team training for various manufacturers in the Netherlands and abroad. A program is prepared depending on your needs and available time, with always plenty of time for questions and your own input. Theory is brushed up and used to solve practical matters.

I can also help during the design. I know too many examples of expensive mistakes that could have been avoided with one phone call during the design. Please, use me as a source of information. It’s very pleasing to me to prevent € 1,000+ worth of errors with fifteen minutes of work.

Ideally, the design process starts with the Design Risk Assessment, in which I can act as a guide and/or control.

In practice, the design risk assessment is often carried out informally or not at all. However, every manufacturer should have a design risk assessment available and this document can be requested for sales, certification or liability claims. For existing installations, the design risk assessment can be drawn up retroactively. Inquire about the possibilities in your situation. 

Trampoline Park Safety combines in-depth knowledge of standards with practical experience from working visits to more than 100 trampoline parks from many different manufacturers.

This experience brought insights that a design that meets all the rules does not automatically lead to a good design. A good layout reduces the number of supervisors required, reduces wear and tear, improves lines of sight and walking, simplifies evacuation and assistance and enhances the visitor experience.

A design assessment by Trampoline Park Safety provides your customer with a trampoline park with lower operational costs and higher capacity for the same cost price. A review of sales sketches can iron out many wrinkles in the sales process. With a review of the final design, the construction process can begin with confidence. 

Certification requires a Technical Construction File of the installation and the user manual. Your customer needs the user manual, and also some parts of the TCF for maintenance. A good structure, cohesion and standard documents help you to easily put together an individual documentation package for each project. Your existing documentation can be updated and structured, or completely new documentation can be created.

Inspection bodies have a certain way of communicating and doing things. Having been an inspector for TÜV Netherlands I know all the ins and outs. Due to my position as a 3rd party without personal interests I can act as a bridge, and thus come to better solutions. I can watch from the sidelines or take over the entire communication, or anything in between.

An external pre-delivery inspection gives you the benefit of a well-informed external view. This can be performed as an internal inspection to guarantee and improve the build quality and/or as a trusted method of transfer to your customer.

Where people work, mistakes are made. Things don't always go as they should, and in those situations where you threaten to get stuck my knowledge, network and position as a non-interested expert can provide relief and assistance. I have a lot of experience with complex situations and I am very capable of smoothing things over, solving problems and get things moving.
